Nissan Note e-Power

Nissan has done some great things with alternative power in its vehicles. For example, the Nissan Leaf is a vehicle that is entirely electric. However, now, Nissan has a unique vehicle called the Nissan Note e-Power. This vehicle is not exactly an electric vehicle, and it is not exactly a hybrid vehicle. Learn more about the Note e-Power below.

According to Forbes, “The Note e-Power is what the industry calls a “series hybrid” which means, for all intents and purposes, this car is an electric car in that it runs on an electric motor which drives the front wheels. But it also has a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine that acts solely as a generator to charge the batteries. The engine does not drive the wheels in any way, and for Japan, that is a new concept.”

The Note e-Power has a 40kW electric motor, but there is no plug-in feature like many hybrid vehicles. The gas engine is used only to generate electricity for the electric engine. This helps it produce more energy with less fuel.

The Note e-Power is currently only available in Japan, but this may be a vehicle that expands to other nations. What does Nissan have planned for the Note e-Power?

Electrive tells us “Nissan wants to extend the reach of their e-Power technology as used in the Note beyond Japan. First markets to benefit from the unusual hybrid are countries in south east Asia such as Thailand and others with weak charging infrastructure.”

Will the Note e-Power come to the United States? Nissan is looking to adapt its e-Power technology for vehicles in the US, so this could be something to look out for if you are interested in hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles.

Nissan has long been working to make its operations and vehicles more eco-friendly. This includes the designing and building of all-electric vehicles. Nissan first introduced the all-electric Nissan Leaf, but they are expanding their lineup of electric vehicles. Nissan now has an all-electric van for those that need a bigger cargo capacity, and this new van now has a new battery for extended driving range.

Automotive World tells us, “The Nissan e-NV200 features a new 40 kilowatt-hour battery, which gives the vehicle a range of 300 kilometers under Japan’s JC08 standard. It combines excellent load capacity and a driver-friendly cabin with brisk acceleration and a superior quietness that only a pure electric vehicle can offer.”

The Nissan e-NV200 is a great option for a city business vehicle. It can give you seating for up to seven as well as good cargo capacity. This vehicle also has Quick Charge Capability, so you can get your battery charged in about an hour or less. It is a great work vehicle. Let’s find out more below!

According to Automotive World, “The new e-NV200 can also operate as a mobile power storage unit. The vehicle’s Power Plug, a 100-volt outlet, can provide electricity for tools and equipment. With the optional EV Power Station installed, the Nissan e-NV200 can even supply electricity to offices and shops and serve as a backup power source during blackouts and emergencies.”

The e-NV200 can be a smart mobile office for your business. From carrying passengers and cargo with ease to providing electricity for tools and equipment, this is a great option to help you work smarter. Also, with the new 40 kilowatt-hour battery, this vehicle has a longer range than ever.

Crossovers and SUVs are really popular these days among consumers. People like the versatility that comes with a crossover. These vehicles give you space for passengers and cargo, towing and hauling capability and a fun driving experience.

On the other hand, electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf are also growing in popularity. That is why Nissan is working to produce an all-electric SUV.

According to Electrek, Nissan’s all-electric crossover  “was unveiled in October last year and Nissan claims that the concept is powered by two “high-output electric motors” at the front and rear, enabling all-wheel-drive. The dual motors have a combined power output of 320 kW and 700 Nm of torque.”

The Head of Nissan Design in Europe is Mamoru Aoki, and he says that this crossover will be in production in a couple of years. It will be based on the IMx concept that has been shown.

But what will this all-electric crossover look like on the inside?

According to Electrek, Aoki also said, “The interior is notably bigger than with a conventional vehicle and there’s much more usable space, thanks to the totally flat floor allowed by the [underfloor] battery pack. The dashboard is also pushed right back [towards the windscreen] because the HVAC [heating, ventilation and air-con] unit is under the bonnet.”

What do you think? Are you ready for an all-electric crossover? It might be time to get ready because Nissan is getting ready to build you one. The IMx concept should be a pretty new vehicle, and while it won’t come out for a few years, it is definitely something to keep on your radar.

Old Leaf Batteries Being Put to Good Use

Are you trying to take better care of the environment? Nissan definitely is. For a while now, the Nissan Leaf has been a popular Electric Vehicle that many people are excited about because it is eco-friendlier. Now, Nissan is thinking ahead about how to reuse old Nissan Leaf batteries instead of having them go to waste.

According to Engadget, “Nissan is using old Leaf batteries in a very meta way: To power streetlights that will make roads safer for vehicles and pedestrians. Called ‘The Light Reborn,’ it uses a solar panel that charges up a battery, which can then power the LED at night with no external connection required.”

The streetlight powering project isn’t officially up and running yet, but they are doing some tests to see how well this project is getting along. The tests will occur in Namie, Japan, which was abandoned after the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Powering streetlights is a great way to utilize old batteries. However, you may be wondering, do these batteries have other possible uses? It turns out they do!

Nissan has been working up ideas for their old batteries for a while, but the street lights is a new option for them. Other plans and ideas they have for these old batteries are for buildings and homes that use wind or solar energy. These batteries would store energy and release it in the event of a power outage.

Engagdet also explains some of the other ideas for old Nissan Leaf batteries, “Another is to use the batteries for ‘smart booths’ that could power cellphones and other devices. Finally, Nissan unveiled a whimsical scheme, ‘a park converting the bursting energy of children into electricity while they play. Children’s energy during the day keeps the park bright and safe at nighttime.’

There are many great reasons to buy a Nissan. One of those reasons is how eco-friendly these vehicles and the company can be. We can’t wait to see what other ideas Nissan comes up with to reuse materials.

At Woodfield Nissan, we care about the environment, and we care about you. If you are looking to upgrade to a new Nissan, come down to Woodfield Nissan and check out our selection. We can help you upgrade to a new Nissan like the all-electric Nissan Leaf or other vehicle options like the Nissan Rogue.
